Blur

It says "Windows 95/98/NT/ME/2000 not supported", when I try to install the game.

The fix for the game is not yet complete. You need to add the Kernel32.dll from the wrapper pack together with the renamed system Kernel32_org.dll and the Wrapper.ini (add fake version lie WinXP) to the setup.exe. See here for the Wrapper.ini usage Info: win2k_xp_kernel32.ini (OCW wrapper ini)

Add Wrapper Shell32.dll and Shell32_ORG.dll and if that doesn't work, use the KDW Kernel32.dll,Kernel2k.dll (ORG Kernel) Shell32.dll and Shell2k.dll (ORG Shell).

It would work, but KDW doesn't have .ini version faking option.
It still write, that my OS not supported :?

(It is a strong protection. It seems they forced us to buy Windows XP :D )

Okay, try the following. Don't use the wrapper, just let it install the regular way. When it comes to the "OS not supported" message, don't quit the setup but browse to your C/document and settings/TEMP folder and check, if there are any game related msi-installer files. If YES, copy all these files to some other directory on your HDD. Now use the " Remove OS Version Check Script for msi archives" and remove the version check and install the game.

It don't work.

The problem is, that the setup.exe contain this OSchecker, not Activision.msi.

If I try to run .msi, it says "You must run setup"

Alright, so now we have to use some tricks...try the following ways:
1) (step 1) use the OCW Kernel32.dll (don't rename it) with the wrapper.ini (fake version lie XP)
(step 2) rename KDW Kernel32.dll to Kernel32_ORG.dll and copy it to the OCW Kernel.
(step 3) rename original system Kernel32.dll to Kernel2k.dll and copy it to this Kernel pack.

So you should have the following files with your setup.exe:
Kernel32.dll (OCW Kernel)
Kernel32_ORG.dll (KDW Kernel)
Kernel2k.dll (Win2k system Kernel)
wrapper.ini

2)
Install the game with the OCW Kernel and Wrapper.ini and the help of Dependency Walker. Run Dependency Walker, open setup.exe and under Profile-> Start profiling mode.

3)
Use the KDW wrapper (together with the renamed system Kernel2k.dll), run fcwin2k.exe (KDW wrapper package). Refer. to the setup.exe and select OS Ver. WinXP. and RunCompat to run the setup with fake version XP.

Let me know how these tricks work out.

None of them work :?

1.) = 2.) : "I don't have enought space" message
3.) : A simply installation failed message.

I uploaded this dependend files:

Strange  difficult to handle this problem from here. The last thing you could to is try to find out the emulation address. Here's the guide Part 1: KnownDlls Wrapper Installer (kdllinst.exe) - XP Version Emulation

Please run the setup.exe in Dependency Walker without any Wrapper files and upload the DWI. I'll take a look.

Try this: Only use the OCW User32.dll with the system User32_ORG.dll + wrapper.ini (fake version lie XP). The OCW User32 also supports version faking. Don't use the Wrapper Kernel this time.

Neither OCW and KDW user32 work. :?
OCW: Setup crash
KDW: "setup.exe can't inicialized (0xc0000005) To terminate te application click OK"

Thank you.

It seems Blur is unplayable in Win2000, I prefer Need for Speed Underground, Most Wanted and Carbon, which are work fine in 2000.

You could delete this game from backporting list. :)

Hi,

i took notes of this issue and we will look into it for the next wrapper update.

The game itself should work on Win2k. Keep in mind about games marked with (*):
"(*) = game-fixes need verifying on full installation and currently don't supply a install guide (The big Windows 2000 & Wrapper FAQ/Forum FAQ/Q3)"
