Infotopic: WinXP games that work fine on Win2k

PostPosted by OldBoy2k » Sun Jan 18, 2009 1:49 am

Most of the newer games haven't been tested on Windows2000 so the developers only mention WinXP as minimum required operating system besides the possibility that the game does indeed run on a Win2k operating system.Thats why this topic informs about XP games which do work fine or still are supported by Windows 2000 (when stated on the retail box or in manual booklet).Attention:Most of the latest games require Pixel Shader 2.0/3.0 and similar Vertex Shader graphic cards. Its strongly recommended to check the minimum system specs!

Games that work fine on Win2k:
Black Buccaneer
Dark Messiah: Might and Magic (v1.02)
El Matador (v1.1)
Infernal
Jade Empire
Jericho
Obscure 2
Painkiller: Overdose
Red Ocean
Shadowgrounds 2 - Survivor
Ratatouille
The Settlers: Rise of an Empire (with v1.6 no problems, see Backporting Games section on how to install the game)
Tabula Rasa Problem: GetSystemTimes function missing finaly working with patch: Tabula Rasa: Patch Notes: 10/9/07
Tomb Raider: Legend
Zombie Shooter 2 Demo
The Hunt Demo (RUS)
The Golden Compass: The Official Videogame
King's Bounty: Armored Princess Demo
Sacred 2: Fallen Angel Demo
Strength & Honour 2 Demo
GREED - Black Border DEMO
Iron Grip: Warlord Demo
Disney Pixar Cars: Mater-National Championship

Below you can reply and post other XP games you found or know that:
- don't need a Wrapper
- don't need the X3Daudio driver
- don't need any other extra XP files (dbghelp and others)
- don't need any OS check removing tweaks
to get them working.

But please, only post name + game version number, Thankyou.
