PC Game Compatibility List

This is an excel spreadsheet of all of the games that I have tested. Each game has been tested by me so that you can be sure that the results are somewhat more accurate than other compatibility results that you may see elsewhere.

3,203 games have been tested (or are in the progress of being tested) under Windows 98SE,Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, Windows XP, BartPE (XPSP2), Windows 2003, Windows Vista and Suse Linux.

The games on the list have been tested with all updates applied to whichever OS that I use and the latest patch for the game unless specified otherwise.

You may need the office excel viewer to view the file.

I've been working on this list since Beta 3 of Windows 2000 back in 1999 and I haven't stopped yet. Hope it proves usefull to you guys. I update it about once a month so check monthly if you want the latest version.

Hi DosFreak,

youre welcome to Windows 2000 gaming forum :) and thanks big bunch for the game list! That helps a lot to figure out problematic games. As for Lost Planet on Windows 2000 - that should work with the latest updated wrapper on SSE2 cpus. The demo works already just fine :D

You can update your list by the current wrapped games:
- Enemy Territory Quake Wars
- Crysis
- Hellgate London
- Bioshock
- Supreme Commander

Thats a great list you've compiled! Thanks for pointing us to it.

Bit of interesting thing I saw regarding game compatibility
Windows 2000: 1115 Just Work
Windows XP: 1126 Just Work

Nice to see that Windows 2000 isn't very far behind in compatibility!

I've already started updating my 2000 list with notes for the wrapper. I'm still listing the games that use the wrapper as "Games with Problems" on my list since it requires the user to do more than just insert the disc and go which qualifies as "Just works" on my list.

When I get the Game Compatibility Pack put together then I plan to get rid of alot of the "Games with Problems" on my list which includes games that use the wrapper.

Hopefully will do alot more 2000 testing next month.

Updated the list again today. Haven't been doing much 2000 game testing lately.

I did spent some time this week updating drivers and applications on my Windows 2000 image for testing though to keep ready.

Is there any way that I could make an Access database of this data easily? Well, if you'd allow me to.
Windows XP x64 Service Pack 2/AMD Phenom II X3 720 (unlocked to an X4) @ 3.00GHz/5.5GB RAM/HD 3870
We're the exception, not the rule.

You can do whatever you want with the data but if you plan on making it public I'd recommend listing the source of the data.

Not only because it was alot of work for me but it makes it alot easier in the future if someone wants to ask questions about the compatibility information.

Some day I will put all of this in a database and post to a webpage but for now the priority is the testing not a pretty but annoying interface. :)

Hello DosFreak,

a while back you requested a list of game titles working under Windows 2000 to add them to your PC GCL.Actually you could add all the games which already got verified and reported to be running fine:

Win2kgaming: Complete XP Games Backporting List
