Having trouble playing a game, post here

Well. I have the wrapper installed already.
I copied them to the air directory. It still doesn´t work.
The game's executable directory is: C:\Program FIles\ League of Legends\Game\ League of Legends.exe
patcher_update.exe is in x:\Program Files\League of Legends\ directory.

Okay,so we may need to copy the fix to all three directories!
Code: Select all
c:\program files\league of legends\air\

Code: Select all
C:\Program FIles\ League of Legends\Game\

Code: Select all
C:\Program Files\League of Legends\

To check that,can you please profile all three executatives again?
League of Legends.exe
patcher_update.exe
launcher.exe

You mention a old Celeron.The old ones don't support SSE2.It could be a problem with SSE2 here.Please check your CPU if it supports SSE2 instructions.

First we need to check with Aclayer.Please create a win2k_xp_kernel32.ini in Windows Notepad Editor and save with the following entries:
Code: Select all
[win2k_xp_kernel32]
majVer=5
minVer=1
buildNum=2600
majSP=2
minSP=0
versionString=Service Pack 2
Load_ACLayers=1

Copy Aclayers.dll from the WinNT/AppPatch directory with the wrapper ini to the launcher.exe directory and try again.

Edit:
I took a closer look at the launcher.dwi again and noticed first chance exception errors which ADOBE AIR.DLL.It gets installed with the game so this could point to a installation/initalisation problem.You should install the latest Adobe Air manually again to check if this fixes your problems click: Adobe Air download

General [Info: win2k_xp_kernel32.ini] Info.

Yeah :? Take a look at the launcher.dwi its really getting ugly in these days fixing this new web technology based stuff.Do you have some time to look at Bioshock 2 and this new copyprotection issue on Win2k?Its still uncovered if it works with Aclayers.

I did some kb.leagueoflegends.com troubleshooting research and found that Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 is required for the game besides Adobe Air and the latest DirectX.Please make sure you have these installed:

DirectX Aug 2009
Download: DirectX 9.0c August 2009 (link in the last post)
.NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1 including the 2009/2010 released Win2k hotfixes
Downloadcenter: ".NET Framework 2.0"

If this doesn't work,we need to follow Arkans instructions to install .Net Framework 3.x.

I'm sorry to hear that we couldn't get the new client working on Win2k yet.The problem with those RPG client games is the quick update and change cycle.Besides trying the .Net 3.x installation i can't come up with better reasonable ideas.

Hi,

can you post/attach the patcher_lib.log and patcher_update.log?

It seems .Net Framework 3.5 is concrete necessary to play the game in the latest build.Please see this thread about the .Net Framework v3.5SP1 Win2k version BlackWingCat released:
click here: Net Framework 3.x.

When I try and run lol.launcher.exe I get the error message:
"The procedure entry point HeapQueryInformation could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32_ORG.DLL."

From a fresh install of win2k pro I have..
Installed service pack 4
installed windows installer 3.1
installed the security rollup package
installed .net 2.0
installed .net 3.5
Installed adobe air(an older version 1.4 I think, the latest version from the adobe site would not install)
installed old cigarettes wrapper( copying and renaming my .dll files from system32 then running ExcludeFromKnownDlls.reg)
installed league of legends
installed dx9c
copied kernal32.dll from the bin file of old cigarettes and the renamed kernal32_org.dll to the main league of legends folder, the /game folder, and the /air folder.

I am running an old HP pavilion dv5000 with a turion mobile 64, 1.8ghz
Please if you have gotten LOL to run on win2k tell me what if anything you have done differently.
