FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage WS2_32.dll problem

PostPosted by dud » Mon Apr 05, 2010 7:26 pm

Hello, I've tried using your fix for flatout, but it doesn't seem to work 100%, maybe it's my fault, but it keeps coming up with a missing entry error in the WS2_32.dll

Error message recieved:
"The procedure entry point freeaddrinfo could not be located in the dynamic link library WS2_32.dll"

also the message reappears several times after I close the first one.

Thanks, any help will be appreciated

Hello dud,

welcome aboard.Where's the advapi32.dll,ws2_32.dll and kernel32.dll from the OCW pack?!You need to add the renamed advapi32_org.dll,ws2_32_org.dll and kernel32_org.dll system files AND the advapi32.dll,ws2_32.dll and kernel32.dll from the Wrapper pack. Also make sure to run the Excludefromknowdll.reg from the pack and to restart the system.

see step 3)

Thanks very much OldBoy2k!

my system gets past the errors and such which is good.

but I'm having some hardware issues with running the game I think since it has my cpu at max cap. for the last 10 minutes not showing any signs of progressing to load the game up into the ram, I'll fiddle with it some more and get back to you.

Sidenote: I also found a lot useful advice on your site. I have quake wars running properly now :)

If your asking about how I installed quake wars, I actually used an xp machine of mine to host the install and I then transfered the quake directory from my program files, from one computer to the other. I then added all the necissary dll's needed to run quake wars. not the most effective way around it but it works.

flatout wise i think it installed with out any checks. running it was the problem and still is.\

more off topic stuff:
If you were curious about what's inside my win2k rig:
2GB PC2100 ECC ram
80GB sata hard drive
DVD-ROM Drive
CD-rw Drive
GA-k8n-sli-pro mobo
939 amd x2 4200+ (2x2.2Ghz)
pny 9800 gt EE

I do believe that this computer is capable of running just about any newer games still :)

I also plan on installing COD Modern warefare 2 and L4D2 along with all the valve games on this computer. ;)

I ran those tests in dependencywalker you recommended BR and packed them into a zip folder.

Thanks. It seems you messed up the Wrapper and ORG files and very important, did you run the Excludefromknown.dll???
- Kernel32_ORG and Advapi_ORG are still not hooked for some reason.

Please read the Quick guide and verify all steps with your Wrapper files installation:

I see, I forgot to run the Excludefromknown.dll

also, i might have gotten the wrapper and the org files mixed up after unpacking everything onto my desktop. I'll repost once I get back to this project.
