Mumble 1.2.3a ?

PostPosted by Chuw » Sun Apr 29, 2012 9:28 pm

Does anybody know, if there is a way to make it work with win2k ?
I was able to get Ventrilo, Skype and TS3 to work flaweless, just not Mumble.
Found this old threat: http://oldcigaret.info/win2k/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=717&p=2484&hilit=mumble#p2484,
aswell the http://mumble.sourceforge.net/Tips_Tricks but that doesnt help due to that OS-check on install with the error-message:
"Mumble requires at least Win XP SP2 or Windows Server 2003 SP1"

If I remember right, I've seen that you can work around that check somewhere, but I am not a programmer myself

Cheers for any hints / help

Here you go:
Info: win2k_xp_kernel32.ini (OCW wrapper ini)
Info: How to bypass/remove launch condition checks
All information can be found in the Tools & Info of the forum.

Maybe you could write a small tut how to install Mumble 1.2.3a.That would be nice.Thanks.

Ok,
with your tip: How to bypass/remove launch condition checks
I was able to install it. - Now I am facing the next problem.
Running mumble.exe is comming with this error-messgage (translated to english):
"C:\Programs\Mumble\mumble.exe is no valid Win32-application"

Any further ideas ?

Cheers
Chuw

P.S.: Added wraped kernel ... etc. to the folder ofc.

Hi, follow d) in the Info: How to bypass/remove launch condition checks thread and change the Minor Subsystem Version of the executable from 0001 to 0000 with PE Tools. Forgot to add "Not a valid Windows 32 bit application error" to the description. Now it should be clear.
